What are the benefits of Windows MUI?
MUI is intended to help reduce the Total Cost of Ownership for corporations operating in an international, multilingual environment. Typically three scenarios would support that cost reduction:
Companies can roll out the English version of Windows with MUI worldwide without having to maintain different language
versions. The local user can then select the user interface language, or the administrator can set it through a Group Policy. Hot Fixes and Service Packs will also be available at the same time
for a worldwide simultaneous rollout.
Helpdesk (or other support personnel) can set the workstation to English, or any other UI language, to more easily find problems. After fixing the problem the workstation can be set to the original UI language. For customers using Windows Server, MUI allows to use of the English product worldwide, and enable network
administrators to administer the server in their native language.
MUI is controlled at the user level, and thus allows for customer scenarios whereby a single workstation is shared by multiple part-time or roaming employees. This also applies to Terminal Services scenario where each user can get a different user interface language depending on their preference.
What versions of Windows are supported by MUI?
Windows XP Professional, Windows XP for Tablet PC, Windows Server 2003 Family, Windows XP Embedded.
Every additional language installed will require approximately 115 MB extra disk space for Windows XP; East Asian language
support requires an additional 250 MB.
MUI is not supported on consumer versions of Windows
such as Windows XP Home Edition.
What is Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI)?
Multilingual User Interface Pack is a set of language
specific resource files that can be added to the
English version of Windows Professional. When installed on the English version of Windows, MUI allows the user interface language of the operating system to be changed according to the preferences of individual users to one of the supported languages.
This allows large corporations to roll out the same worldwide image with a single install job. Local users can then select the user interface language or it can be set by Group Policy for Organizational Units.
MUI also allows different language users to share the same workstation or roaming users to take their localized user interface
from one workstation to another. For instance, one user might choose to see system menus, dialogs and other text in Japanese, while another user logging onto the same system might prefer to see the corresponding text in French.
This software allows you to convert your Windows operating system to any of the languages available. After installing the software, you can run programs in your own native language and read in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Korean, or any other languages you like that is listed below. This software also comes with many additional features. The software
is brand new and has never been installed, registered, or used. This is a great add-on for anyone interested in customizing their computer with other languages.

There are 33 languages available in the Windows XP Professional Multilingual User Interface Pack, which is an add-on to the English version of Windows XP Professional: Arabic Hebrew Portuguese (Brazil) Hungarian Chinese Hong Kong Italian Chinese Simplified Japanese Chinese Traditional Korean Czech Norwegian Danish Polish Dutch Portugues (Portugal) Finnish Russian French Spanish German Swedish Greek Turkish Overview Windows XP Multilingual
User Interface Pack provides several key advantages over language-specific localized versions of Windows XP.
Windows XP is a world-ready operating system that can run applications in any language. Further, Windows XP contains globalization features that enable localized applications to run successfully.

A localized version of Windows XP provides the same set of international features as the English version of Windows XP. In additions to these features, the localized version provides a user interface suitable for a particular language. By comparison,
the Windows XP Multilingual User Interface Pack supports user interface in multiple languages on the same installation. This is the natural evolution of localized versions of Windows, given
the architecture behind the Windows XP operating system, the engineering process to produce it, and the high level of localization coverage it provides. Windows XP Embedded takes advantage
of Multilingual User Interface technology to localize embedded run-time images. Multilingual User Interface technology holds special values in an embedded environment context, and initial concerns about Multilingual User Interface technology in desktop/server
PC markets are even less of an issue in an embedded
environment.
What versions of Windows are supported by MUI?
Windows XP Professional, Windows XP for Tablet PC, Windows Server 2003 Family, Windows XP Embedded.
Every additional language installed will require approximately 115 MB extra disk space for Windows XP; East Asian language
